Austin Okere, the Founder of CWG Plc, the largest Systems Integration Company in Sub-Saharan Africa has been announced as the guest speaker for this year’s graduation ceremony of the Lagos Business School 2016 Executive Programme. The event is billed to hold on Saturday, September 17th in Lagos.

The information was disclosed by the dean of the school, Dr. Enase Okonedo.

Mr. Okere is expected to share details of his personal entrepreneurial experience alongside personal values and beliefs that have contributed to his successful career with the grandaunts at the event. Past guest speakers at the executive programme graduating ceremony includes notable players in the Nigerian economy and outstanding entrepreneurs. These include Mr. Philips Oduoza, the immediate past CEO, UBA Plc, Mr. Demola Aladekomo, the Chairman, Chams Plc and Mr. Nicolaas Vervelde, the CEO, Nigerian Brewery Plc.

The Lagos Business School is renowned for the provision of comprehensive education for professionals in Africa drawing on the experiences of multinational faculty and other participants. The Executive Programme, in particular, has been designed to enhance the management knowledge and skills of decision makers for organisations and indeed the industry.

Austin Okere is an entrepreneurship enthusiast. He is focused on mentoring and inspiring young people around the globe to achieve their full potential. Recall that he delivered the commencement speech at the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) Graduation Ceremony in 2012. He also facilitated the “Lean Launch Pad Block Week” with serial entrepreneurs, Steve Blank and Bob Dorf, co-authors of the bestselling Start-up Owner’s Manual.

He is an Entrepreneur in Residence at the Columbia Business School (CBS), New York and a member of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Business Council on Innovation and Intrapreneurship.

Austin Okere also serves on the Advisory Board of the Global Business School Network (GBSN), a body dedicated to advancing the cause of knowledge sharing to inspire and transform business education across the globe. Austin Okere is an incumbent member of the Governing Council of the Institute of Directors of Nigeria, as well as the Advisory Council of the Association of Telecommunication Companies of Nigeria (ATCON). He is also a Fellow of the Nigerian Computer Society (NCS).

He was named the ICT Personality of the year 2014 by the Nigerian Computer Society. He is also a recipient of the NCS special Presidential Award in 2016, in recognition of his invaluable contribution to the growth and promotion of ICT and enhancement of professionalism in the sector. He was listed on UK’s C.Hub Magazine’s 100 Most Influential Creatives in 2016.
