Austin Okere, the Founder, CWG Plc, will be speaking at the 22nd World Conference of Banking Institutes (WCBI) which will be hosted by The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) in Lagos, between April 24 and 28, 2017.

The Conference is a biennial global forum that brings together professionals from the financial services industry and other stakeholders engaged in banking and other financial services, education and training. It aims at promoting innovative talent management strategies for the financial services sector as well as encourage strategic learning, cross fertilization of ideas and networking for value.

Mr. Okere will be speaking to participants on “Technology” at the event which has the theme: “Re-Thinking the Future of Banking and Finance & Life-long Learning”. This will be followed by an interactive and mentoring session.

There have been 20 WCBI conferences held in different parts of the world following its inception in the United Kingdom in 1975. The last edition was held in Seoul in 2015.

Austin Okere is an Entrepreneur in Residence at the Columbia Business School (CBS), New York and a member of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Global Agenda Council on Innovation and Intrapreneurship.

He also serves on the Advisory Board of the Global Business School Network (GBSN), a body dedicated to advancing the cause of knowledge sharing to inspire and transform business education across the globe. Austin Okere is a member of the Governing Council of the Institute of Directors of Nigeria, as well as the Advisory Council of the Association of Telecommunication Companies of Nigeria (ATCON). He is also a Fellow of the Nigerian Computer Society (NCS).

It will be recalled that Austin Okere recently highlighted the keynote address at the Global Business School Network (GBSN) and European Foundation Management Development (EFMD) joint conference held at Accra. He was also a keynote speaker at the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) and Society for Corporate Governance Nigeria (SCGN) joint workshop for directors and senior management of the Dealing Member firms of the Exchange in Lagos.
