The Global Business School Network (GBSN), a body dedicated to advancing the cause of knowledge sharing to inspire and transform business education across the globe, has named Austin Okere, the founder and Vice-Chairman, CWG Plc, as an advisory member of the body. The announcement was made last week by Guy Pfeffermann, the founder and CEO of GBSN.

According to him, Austin Okere’s nomination is in recognition of his role in technology business management and education. He further said, “we are glad to have Austin on our advisory board. His contribution to the development of business development and knowledge transfer in Africa informs that he is indeed a great addition. We look forward to sharing out of his wealth of experience.”

In response, Austin Okere expressed appreciation for the privilege given to him by the GBSN. “I thank the GBSN for considering me worthy of this privilege. Beyond being a recognition of merit, it is a call to service and I am willing to give my best to improve more lives around the globe in this capacity”, he added.

Austin Okere is a technology and entrepreneurship education enthusiast. He is an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at the Columbia Business School, in New York and a member of the business council on innovation and Intrapreneurship at the World Economic Forum.

He will serve alongside other prominent individuals in both the corporate and private sectors from diverse parts of the globe. These include Harry Broadman, Managing Director, Pricewaterhouse Coopers, USA, Nkosana Moyo, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, African Development Bank, Zimbabwe, Keith Richards, Managing Director, Promasidor Nigeria Ltd, Nigeria, Leornard Schlesinger, Professor of Business Administration, Harvard Business School, USA, Syed Babar Ali, Chairman, Packages Limited, Pakistan.

GBSN, a non-profit organization, is based in Washington DC. It has the aim of strengthening management education for emerging markets through a unique global network of business schools, with a growing network of over 70 leading business schools on six continents.
